ABOUT THE STORE

Located in the heart of the Connecticut shoreline, we are known for our uncommon approach to the shopping experience. And walking into the J. Horton store is just that - an experience! Prepare to be surrounded by a mix of fashion, home décor, and lifestyle goods that are the perfect balance of extraordinary & stylish.

WHAT MAKES OUR SHOP UNIQUE?

With a small selection of ever-changing merchandise, we provide a curated view of the cutting edge.

You never know what you’ll find in the shop; the one common denominator is the refined yet playful taste with which Joan herself has thoughtfully chosen each and every item.

OUR STORY

Joan Horton’s newest venture at 690 Boston Post Road has evolved from her love of sourcing, collaborating with, and showcasing talented designers who are at the forefront of style.

Raised to express her own innate taste, spirit and creativity, Joan has traveled extensively, developing a deep appreciation for a range of lifestyles, designs and cultures. As a result, Joan is a trendsetter, always on the lookout for groundbreaking concepts and products.

She opened one of the first restaurants in the now trendy Flatiron District of NYC, was featured on the cover of BizBash, the event planners #1 resource guide, and worked within the fashion and beauty world, creating and planning PR campaigns and global events for companies like Revlon and L’Oreal.

WHY MADISON?

This sleepy beach town two hours from Manhattan is filled with art, music and theater, along with sailing, hiking, sports and farmers markets that delight the senses.

Moving back to Connecticut after many years in NYC, Joan opened her store in a community she believes is primed to become a destination for adventurous and creative people like herself, who love natural beauty, walking on empty beaches and discovering the extraordinary.
